So...should we kill the birds?
We're getting ready to redecorate the sunroom into a playroom. We're going to put carpenting over the parkay (sp?) flooring and paint the walls and trim. The big question is...do we paint over the mural on the ceiling? Swallows, clouds, and even some glow in the dark stars. If we are going to paint it, we should do it before we have the carpenting installed.
So help me out....what do you think? Should the swallows stay or go?
PS Take note of the brown foil ceiling in our dining room. The previous lady of the house didn't leave *anything* undecorated.
Jim's Update: I think the consensus is that we keep them!

I like the birds! My vote: keep them.
While you probably never would have chosen to have those painted on there in the first place, there they are! The kids might enjoy the ongoing novelty of having them in their playroom. ;) Now the foil? hmmm ;) Kirsten, I don't remember if you were ever in my folks house growing up, but having owned a paint and wallpaper store, they would have been of the "didn't leave *anything* undecorated" people. I learned to appreciate the power of paint, wallpaper, etc. to really change a room inexpensively. You of course have to make it what you want it to be!
Maybe you could ask Luke if you should kill the birds. Mormor
I vote to keep them too! It might seem hokey to us but for children it is much more scope for the imagination - like living inside a cheerful storybook. It is a delightful ceiling for a kids playroom in my opinion. -Judy
Mormor: Luke says "keep the birds!"
I think we're going to keep them.
meghan said, "no, keep them!"
Hey - the Johnsons just visited our site and pointed out that the link to our site from your site doesn't actually go to us (get it?). Granted, they're having a lovely time on that other blog, especially if you scroll down a bit...but it's not us. tee he he You need to add a "2" after the buzzards in the link. ;)
Jim fixed the link, Lisa. Thanks!
I guess it's unanimous...the swallows stay! The previous lady of the house might be pleased. :>)
Now...about that brown tin foil ceiling...
I think you need to work on the living rooms walls and leave the dining room ceiling alone for now. Hey, anyone can have white ceilings - look at our house. Rather boring. No one talks about our ceilings. Mommor
