Luke and I spent time at the park during Kirsten's meeting this morning. Afterwards, we got to see KJ, Marti and Doreen.

Mimicing Becca

Most meals Luke says, "Too hot!"

Then, shaking his head, he says, "It's not too hot." The way he says it, it's Becca's voice we hear. It's funny how well he mimics her.

Becca: we're blessed to have your influence in Luke's life, this included!

Luke dresses himself!

Today, Luke and I went swimming at the hotel pool. When we returned to our room I changed first and decided to heat his lunch up first before I changed him. Well....he walks out of the bedroom and happily proclaims, "Okay, Mommy. I'm ready to go!"

He put his shirt on all by himself! Good job, Luke! We will all pretend that isn't my underwear, deal?

Of Escalators and Uncles

My business took me to Moline, Illinois last week--just across the river from Davenport, Iowa, home of Luke's Uncle Pete. So while I messed around in an escalator plant, Kirsten and Luke got to spend a couple days with his Uncle Pete and his trusty side-kick Yasche.

Luke had a great time, but I don't think we took a single picture. Bummer!

Today we drove through a residential neighborhood and Luke starts saying, "Uncle Peter! Uncle Peter!" I think seeing the houses reminded him of Uncle Pete's very cool place.

P.S.: Just because we don't have pictures (do we K?) doesn't mean anyone isn't photogenic. ;-)

Dolphins!

A few weeks ago when the Birches were in town, we saw a dolphin show at Shedd Aquarium. We waited forever for the show to start (way past Luke's patience). We probably waited an hour for about four dolphin jumps. (Ugh.)
