Trick-or-Treating in Andersonville

We heard about a trick-or-treating time in Andersonville and thought it would be nice to visit. It was a shop-to-shop thing, so it was nice just wandering up and down Clark street. We forgot the camera, so we're stuck with my cell-phone pictures. Sorry!

Luke is pretty apprehensive starting out. (He cried when we first put his costume on.)

Eventually, he started getting into it.

As we coaxed him to say, "thank you," he chose a more free-form response: "I like candy!" (And once he started saying thank you, he wouldn't stop!)

The suckers were his favorite.

Lots of cute kids in all kinds of costumes (sorry--no pictures). But Luke was the only bumble-bee we saw. Thanks, Mormor!

Paul and Dana

A big shout-out to Paul and Dana!

They were in town for Dana's brother's art exhibit.

This was the first time I met them in person. They weren't able to make our wedding.

Here they are with Dana's folks.

They met Luke, too, though he ran around the restaurant's outdoor patio like a wild child.

"Surfer Dude!"

Luke started calling this toy "Surfer Dude!"

Cracked me up.

I think it's more of Sarah's influence. Sarah has been taking care of him a couple days a week since January.

Of course, Sarah's biggest influence is from the care and love she gives him. She helps give him a secure foundation, knowing he's loved.

You're awesome, Sarah! Thanks!

Post-CHIC Party

Here are some pictures of the CHIC DVD release party. (I think that's what it was. I heard there was food, so I was there.)

Hey, CHICsters! Enjoy.

Here are my pics.

Thanks for the miraculous work you did in pulling off that incredible event.

You SO ROCK!!

P.S.: Those cool keepsakes that (Doug? Paul?) made can be found at MyPublisher.com.

Luke Sees Color

Well, it's official: Luke isn't colorblind!

I've been looking forward to giving him this test for a while. Now that he knows his numbers well enough, he can (kind of) take it. He saw this number. (Do YOU see a number in this field of dots?)

He didn't seem to learn his colors as quickly as other things (like letters and numbers), and that made me a bit concerned. (Everything was "blue!") But now he's doing just fine.

I'm red-green colorblind. I don't see a number here. (Strange, isn't it? It's normal for me!) Not a big deal, but I'm glad Luke didn't get it.

My Mom predicted this. She says it's passed through the female, so Kirsten would have to have it for Luke to get it. When we have daughters, their kids could have it.

Like I say, not a big deal. I don't feel robbed, cheated or limited in life. I think, how much more colorful can the world be? I can't imagine the universe being any more colorful than I perceive it. (Can you imagine colors you've never seen?)

It makes me think about heaven, where we'll be given a new set of eyes with our new bodies. That should be pretty cool. Maybe we'll be given eyes to see colors (or other sights) we can't even imagine now.
